It’s been a busy month!

We took 3rd as a team at Grappling Games. It was a well run tournament and a good way to shake the rust off for the Dallas Open! Our guys and girls worked hard and showed their skills against some of Texas’ best! Thanks to everyone who showed up to support our fighters. It means so much that you take the time to help out your gym family! We all got to see some big faces at the Dallas Open and watch them compete. Keep training hard and coming to class!

BJJ Revolution Camp In Rio!

This year we will have some new attractions as a Visit to Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, Rio Botanical Garden, Tour around the wonderful beaches of Rio, attend a live soccer game for the Brazilian Seria A League, and a special training day at both the legendary Carlson Gracie Headquarters in Copacabana Beach and elite MMA team Brazilian Top Team.

The final day of camp will be celebrated at the top Churrascaria in Rio with world famous Brazilian BBQ!

Join us in this unique experience to visit the birth city of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, home of the 2014 Soccer world cup, and 2016 Olympic games.

Space is limited and a pre registration is REQUIRED.

The following steps must be taken in order to secure your travels to Rio and BJJ Revolution Camp:

  • Obtain a passport.
  • Obtain a Brazilian Visa. Find a Brazilian consulate next to your city by going online at Brazilian Consulates.
  • Book your flight.
    • US Continental, United, American Airlines and Delta have good flights to Rio. US Airways, Korean Airlines and Copa Airlines offer flights as well.
    • From Asia, Air France and Emirates offers the best options.
    • Simply shop around to find the best deals. The sooner you book the cheaper it will be.
    • Book a Hotel, Apartment, Hostel or Bed & Breakfast.
      • Leblon Beach has plenty of options, from 5 Stars Hotels to Hostels.
      • We suggest a hostel. Visit LeBlon Spot Designer Hostel  or for a large group or couple stay at Mercure. Simply google Leblon and you’ll find lots of options.
      • Staying in Leblon Beach is highly recommended.
      • Send camp fees to BJJ Revolution in order to reserve your spot. Max 20 people [14 spots open]

After these steps we’ll also need the follow information from you:

  • Airline itinerary; arrival & departure schedule (day and hours).
  • Hotel address; check in and check out day .
  • Emergency telephone contact with area code.

Travel insurance is recommended.

The Masters/Seniors Worlds International and the Rio International Open will be in Rio one week after the camp. This will be a great opportunity to experience competition in Rio.

Julio is a 6th degree Carlson Gracie Sr. Black Belt and the Co-founder of our team. Learn some great time tested, tournament proven techniques from one of the best in Jiu Jitsu. Big congratulations are in order for our team mate Domingo Pilarte who crushed his opponent with a huge K.O. this passed November 14th. Domingo has been working very hard for this fight and proved it in the cage that night. If you get a chance to roll with Domingo in class, take advantage of the opportunity. It’s always a fun roll with his speed and agility and he’s downright hard to submit. We are all very proud of Domingo as a great talent in the sport of MMA and Jiu Jitsu and as a strong Christian with unbreakable values. Big Congratulations are in order for the Revolution Dojo team! All three of our fighters did amazing at Legacy Amateur Series this passed Saturday. Sammy Mongonia is the new Legacy MT champ. Uriel Figueroa won by majority decision. Quentin Kiper won by unanimous decision. The action from our guys was spectacular. Beautiful technique and great sportsmanship as always. September Updates

Hey guys,

Lots of exciting news for the upcoming months. We are doing a free GI giveaway for any student who gets the most people to sign up! The GI is a custom BJJ Team Revolution by Ouano, white with green stitching. The contest wil run until October 31st. Get out there and make some new friends and rep your gym! Also, please take the time to write a Google review if you haven’t already. Most people who sign up with us do so because of your great reviews!

Our very own Quentin Kiper and our Muay Thai instructors Sam “The Bully” Mongonia and Urial “Woody” Figueroa will be fighting on October 6th at Legacy Houston Texas. Hi guys,

We are excited to announce the Grand Expansion Celebration of our Houston location. The celebration starts September 1st from 11am to 2pm. Bring your family and friends! Special promotional rates will be given to those that sign up or add a program to their membership on or by Saturday. We will be adding new classes and programs including No-GI and Muay Thai. There will be a huge belt and stripe promotion this Saturday so I want to see everyone attend from both gyms to support the Team!!

Congrats to our competitors who fought at Naga this passed weekend. Almost everyone who competed took home a medal and many took home more than one! Our children competitors did great as well; showing great attitudes and technical skills. Let’s train even harder to get ready for Grapplers Quest in September.

We will be introducing the newest members of our coaching staff; Nete,Sam,and Woody which will be heading the Muay Thai classes at the Houston location. They are an extremely experienced group that holds numerous titles and we are very proud to have them apart of the Revolution family.

Bio:

Nethaneel “Nete” Mongonia-
Since 2007, Kru Nete has studied and fought directly under the supervision of the legendary two time Lumpinee stadium champion Kru Thussayu “Pong” Phumswarng. What started out as a way to lose weight, turned into a deep passion and love for the art of Muay Thai. He holds the USMTA National Super Middle-weight title, USACS Super Middle-weight title, and the TBA-SA International Class-A Light Middle-weight title.

Sam Mongonia “The Bully”
Since 2007 Sam has trained under Kru “Pong.” Has trained in Thailand, Uganda, and Cambodia. Has cornered fighters such as: Uriel Figueroa and Jennifer Guerrero

Urial Figueroa “Woody”
Training Martial Arts since 2002. Started training Jiu Jitsu in 2006 under Manny Galvan then studied Muay Thai under Romelle Agra from Elite MMA. Record of 2-1.

GREAT JOB TO OUR COMPETITORS AT NAGA 8/25-26 !!

We took home many gold medals this past weekend at the Naga Championships! Most of the students placed in their divisions or took multiple medals home. Our adult competitors showed amazing heart and went out there with the purpose to win. Once again, Jeff Messina raced from mat to mat making sure everyone received the coaching they needed during their matches. The children did phenomenal as usual, showed great attitudes, and followed Mr. Zip’s directions perfectly. Special thanks to coach Zip (James Zipperer) for spending the day coaching our little ones to victory!!

Congratulations to our Judo students!!

     Jaime Lazcano, one of our Judo intructors at the Katy location, saw fit that some of our Judo team mates got promoted last night! Adriel Sharaby, Baruch Sharaby, Ethan, Jeff Messina, Veronica Mota, and Kurt Pantle all received promotions. Jaime put everyone through a tough warm up followed by non stop Radori. The promotions were done in a traditional manner and stripes or belts given in the presence of  our two Katy  Black belts in Judo, Jaime Lazcano and Adrian Alonzo. Thank you all for being apart of our team and for helping us grow into the family we are. Keep coming to class regularly and training hard!
